Welcome
I’m Cambelle, a New Zealand-educated communications professional with a Master of Criminology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism. I’m particularly drawn to justice and crime reporting, and to making complex research clear, engaging, and accessible to wider audiences. Through investigative storytelling, media engagement, and strategic communications, I combine careful analysis with strong narrative to help people better understand the issues that shape our communities.
Published Work
The Post is Wellington’s daily newspaper and news website, proudly rooted in the capital and unafraid to challenge, provoke and lead the conversation. Smart, confident and deeply connected to its city, The Post celebrates the people, culture and ideas of Pōneke Wellington, reflecting and championing the progressive, creative spirit of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Wairarapa Times-Age is an independent regional newspaper grounded in its community, delivering trusted local reporting alongside national and international coverage. Through a global pandemic and moments of real consequence, we’ve reported on democracy, crime, health, education, the rural sector and sport — holding power to account, telling local stories with care, and growing a loyal readership along the way.
This selection of work reflects my experience across news, features and commentary, with a focus on clear, engaging storytelling and issues that matter. From local reporting to broader social and political themes, these pieces show my ability to research thoroughly, write with purpose, and communicate complex ideas in an accessible, compelling way.
